CSR & LawThe working Group explores the interaction between CSR and law in a broad perspective. The purpose of the working group is to discuss, analyze, share and suggest how and why law can and will influence Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Responsible Investments and vice versa. It is becoming more and more evident that CSR will have a profound effect on law and the legal profession in the years to come. It is thus important that lawyers, government officials, judges, legal scholars as well as CSR-professionals take part in this development, as the legal dimension – sooner or later – will be in the midst of all these problems and solutions. The interplay between CSR is important whether is it advising clients, deciding on cases, drafting legislation or voluntary instruments or doing research. The working group will discuss topics such as the implications of soft law and hard law, self-regulation and the interaction between responsibility, liability and accountability. Other topics will be contract law, law and ethics, extra-territoriality, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, whistleblower systems, green and social procurement, tax and so on. We will meet quaterly and members are expected to take an active part in the meetings. Also, the working group will arrange events, lectures, etc. with external speakers together with speakers from the working group.
